“We Got the Beat” was written by Charlotte Irene Caffey (born October 21, 1957, Santa Monica, California) who is an American rock and roll guitarist and composer. She is best known for her work with the Go-during Go’s their 1980s heyday and for composing the song “We Got the Beat” for them.
Before joining the Go-in Go’s 1978 and switching to guitar, Caffey started her musical career as a bass guitar player in the early Los Angeles punk band The Eyes, before moving on to other projects.
